From Lassie to Ludwig
Lassie : The all-american dog that could talk to the humans. Spin-off films and plenty of series later we also had skippy the talking kangaroo and flipper the talking dolphin. Ah well, I suppose some people liked them.
The Legend Of Tim Tyler : Tim Tyler, he of the infectious laugh [see first episode where he knocked over an old biddy's fruit basket and laughed in her face?!] who sold his laugh to THE BARON the richest man in the world and owner of some nifty black Kaftans. He conveniently lacked a sense of humour and so traded the ability to make any bet come true for Tims laugh.
Like the Midas touch though Tim realised his mistake and ended up wandering all over the world trying to get his laugh back with the aid of a drunken sailor and a nun? Why he didn't just bet he could get his laugh back bythe end of the day and save us all the endless episodes nobody knows, but basically it was v.poor
Let's Pretend : Dancing and singing and a worm on a stick.
LET'S PRETEND IS AT AN END,
CAN YOU PLAY AT LET'S PRETEND?
JUST PRETENDING, JUST PRETENDING.
LET'S PRETEND, LET'S PRETEND (REPEAT UNTIL ILL).
Little Blue : An elephant who played with his Mum's biro in the bath and got stained blue. The theme tune was classic but I can only remember bits.
LITTLE BLUE
LITTLE BLUE
WHY DO THEY CALL HIM LITTLE BLUE?
PLAYING IN HIS LITTLE BATH AS SOME OF US DO
HE BIT HIS MUMMY'S FOUNTAIN PEN AND BROKE IT IN TWO
THE INK IT SQUIRTED IN THE WATER..WOW!
HIS MUMMY'S GOT A BLUE BOY NOO-OO-OO-OOW
Littlest Hobo : Remembered more for the theme tune than anything else, the littlest hobo made his way across America helping people out before leaving for his next adventure.
THERE'S A VOICE,
KEEPS ON CALLING ME.
DOWN THE ROAD,
THAT'S WHERE I'LL ALWAYS BE.
EVERY STOP I MAKE,
I'LL MAKE A NEW FRIEND.
BUT I'LL KEEP MOVING ON AGAIN,
THAT'S HOBBO STYLE.
MAYBE TOMORROW, I'LL WANT TO SETTLE DOWN,
UNTIL TOMORROW, I'LL JUST KEEP MOVING ON
Theme Tune - Get your hankies ready for the littlest hobo theme
Look and Read : The best schools programme on the TV which has a dedicated home page which I created.
